No one has withstood more the tests of time, cultures and emergencies than Jesus Christ and no solitary life makes claims and back them up with 100% accuracy than Jesus Christ. Making Him not only unique, special and a category of His own but also reveals that Christ Jesus is larger than life, as if He was the real life and all else is mere detail.
"And there are also many other things Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written." The Holy Bible, John 21:25.
Matthew 22:42 reads, "What do you think of Christ, whose son is he?"
For two thousand years people have been asking this question. What about you? Do you think of Him as a healer, a physician?
He heals more sick people than all the health institutions combined. He does it without charge and self interest.

Do you think of Him as an educator, a scholar?
He never wrote a book. Never founded a school. All He said could be read in just fifteen minutes, yet His words are so profound that they are obeyed by more people, have been translated into most languages, distributed more widely, and are applied more generally than all learning institutions combined.

Do you think of Him as a leader, a statesman?
Great statesmen of the West and the East have come and gone. Powerful generals and dictators have come and gone. Mighty gurus and seers have come and gone, but this man Jesus stands ageless. His influence increases all the time. His followers multiply evermore.

Do you think of Him as a priest or a prophet?

He did not build a temple or monument for a religion, He claimed to be greater than the temple. He did not come to show a way, He claimed to be the Way. He did not proclaim another religion, He claimed to be the real life. He did not rank Himself among patriarchs and prophets, He said He was greater than them.
He stands unique in a category by Himself. Who else is proclaimed by God Himself, praised by angels, worshipped by saints, followed by kings, and feared by devils? He stands majestic not only in history, but also in glory. "And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS" (Revelation 19:16).

No other person or deity ever made such an enormous impact on countless peoples across centuries. Because of Him, and Him alone, people continue to enter in a life-changing relationship with God. A holy and everlasting relationship that changes a person for better and forever. "...Christ in you the hope of glory" (Colossians 1:27).

Not only has Jesus Christ influenced human history, He claims to influence the future also. In the book of Revelation, chapter 1, we read: "I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of death."
You may wonder, "Why did He die”
It sounds so contradictory to what you have read so far. The fact is, it is mind-boggling, confusing and nonsensical -- if you give up reading here!

All the claims that Jesus made, the miracles He did and the sinless life He lived pointed to one chief event which was His supreme objective when he first came 2000 years ago. He came to be the SINBEARER of humankind. The one and only Savior, both from the penalty and power of sin. According to Acts 4:12, Only Jesus Christ can save us on the planet Earth.

If the greatest need of humanity was money, God would have sent us an economist. If the most pressing need of humanity was education, God would have sent us an educator. If the real need was technology, God would have sent us a scientist. If the most urgent need was healing, then God would have given us a physician. If the number one problem of humanity was to produce food, God would have given us an agriculturist.

The most pressing problem of all humans is to change sinful nature. Sin is not falling short of social standards but of God's standards that are set up in the Bible. Sin is the root cause of all evil. Every person on earth is a sinner. He/she needs salvation from the penalty of past sin and empowerment to overcome the influence of ever-present sin. That is why God sent a Savior namely Jesus Christ. According to Romans 5:8-9, by His death Jesus saves us from the penalty of past sins, and by His life He empowers us to overcome the power of present sin.

For me to become a cockroach is not as degrading as it was for God to become a man. God became Jesus of Nazareth in order to deal with the issue of sin. 1 Peter 2:24 reads, "Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to our sins, might live for righteousness by whose stripes we are healed."

Jesus was abandoned by His friends, mocked by the masses, and executed by His enemies. He was nailed to a Roman cross in Jerusalem where He personally carried the load of our sins to satisfy God's justice. The prophet Isaiah says, "Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:4-5).

Because of sinful nature, all human efforts have an undertow. Human righteousness at best is refined selfishness. The Bible says, "...All our righteousness’ are like filthy rags" (Isaiah 64:6).
"There is not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin" (Ecclesiastes 7:20). "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Our only hope is in Jesus Christ. "There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5).

Just as the fish cannot live on trees and the birds cannot live under water, sinners cannot live by God's Spirit and laws. The answer cannot be found in futile attempts to find techniques and theories that will keep out storms for a period of time. Instead we need someone greater than the storms and someone beyond this world who can help navigate our life despite storms. Once the Lord Jesus Christ ordered a heavy storm in the sea of Galilee, it stopped at once. At least on three different occasions He ordered death to leave the dead and commanded life to return. Our view of Jesus Christ is often too small, too provincial, too sectarian, too human. We need to pause to reflect on the Biblical account about Him. It teaches that Jesus Christ is God manifested in human flesh. Here are a few accounts from the Holy Bible:

"In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins, who is the image of the invisible God...for by Him all things were created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him" (Colossians 1:14-16).

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen of angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory" (1 Timothy 3:16).

"God who at various and in different ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the majesty on high" (Hebrews 1:1-3).

Jesus said, "I am the Light of the world" (John 8:12); "I am the Resurrection and the Life!" (John 11:25); and "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6).

Jesus Christ is the only uncaused absolute truth. He is the unchanging ultimate reality. He is above all, before all and more than all. He has created this universe as a uniformity of cause and effect. From the gigantic galaxy to the minute microbe in one solid structure, He upholds and administers them by the word of His power. He is Alpha and Omega. He is absolute and absolute. He has a category of His own.

Because of who He is, God the Savior, His ownership on a sinner is legitimate. Christians are not perfect, but they are forgiven people. It is in this sense that they claim and proclaim the Lordship of Jesus Christ. "God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, and not imputing their trespasses to them; and has committed to us the ministry of reconciliation" (2 Corinthians 5: 18-19).

No other person or deity ever made such an enormous impact on countless peoples across centuries like Jesus Christ did and continue!

You may say, "This is great! I wonder what Jesus Christ can do for me."

The answer rests on what you think of Christ. A teacher, a leader, a prophet, the Savior or the Messiah, Christ of God. When you acknowledge your sinfulness and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Master, you will receive and experience the following privileges:
Your sins will be forgiven by God - Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 8:12; 1 Peter 2:24.
You will become a child of God - John 1:12; 1 John 3:9.
You will become a new creature in Christ - 2 Corinthians 5:17; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.
You will experience the abundant and eternal life - John 10:10; 1 John 5:10-13.
You will experience the power of the Holy Spirit - Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:9-16.
You will experience miracles of God - Mark 16:15-19; John 14:12.
You will experience the peace of God - John 14:27; Philippians 4:7; Isaiah 26:3-4.
Your prayers will be answered by God - John 14:12-14; Mark 11:22-24; 1 John 5:14-15.
You will find real purpose for life – John 10:10;
You will be able to live for God - 1 Peter 4: 1-2

You will dwell in safety – Psalm 4:8; John 10:30

Trusting and obeying Jesus Christ is a win, win situation!

Here is how you can know and follow Christ:
First and foremost, cast out any stereotype, that you are about to enter a religious experience or need to change your social identity and betray established opinions and go against friends or family. Knowing Christ is above and beyond such man made customs and trends and traditions. A doubter, mediocre and a follower may suffer in bondages and remain trapped in the cycle of man made world but a believer must rise above the ordinary and trust God more than popular opinion and trends!

(1) Acknowledge that you are a sinner and need to repent. When you are sorry for the sins you have committed, you then need the Savior to help change your life for the better. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
(2) Believe that the Lord Jesus' death on the Cross is your substitution, that He rose the third day from the dead and since lives forever, and that He is coming again as King of kings and Lord of lords. "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
(3) Receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord. Receiving Christ is exactly like receiving a person into your life. "Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God" (John 1:12).
(4) Follow the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. This act should not be a mere intellectual conviction, but also an act of the will to follow Christ, who demanded, "If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me" (Luke 9:23).

When you surrender to Christ, you must:

(A) Pray many times a day for all things big and small.
(B) Read the Bible daily. Meditate on the text and practice its principles.
(C) Attend a church where Jesus Christ is the focus of worship and activities.
(D) Share with others your discoveries and experiences with Christ.
